I’m sitting on my couch, wrapped up in cozy blankets as the fire crackles and the snow falls softly outside. The fam is still asleep, and I have a rare moment to myself.

And I just keep thinking, “wow, that was a year.”

When it started, I was in a dark, dark place, unsure of what I wanted or where I was going. Worried the best was already behind me and that I was doomed. Waiting for my brain to betray me for the last time (depression is a bitch, yo).

But, slowly the light returned and I found myself determined to do things differently. To embark on new adventures and let go of most of the fucks I’d been hanging on to. And to stop saying no to things just because society told me I should.

Then came the, “hey, so Desire. You really wanna go?” convo with the hub. And we all know where that led. To the pool. Naked hot tub adventures. A trip to a BDSM club. Sexy app memberships. Swinger parties. Date nights with new friends… and a few ghosters.

And a way deeper connection with Bruce. Hotter sex, yes, but also more honest, less filtered conversations. And a renewed focus on ourselves as a couple, not just harried parents with no time for anything.

It turned out to be a good year.

And so here we are. At the start of 2025. We have plans for a sleepover with our friends, the Neons, next weekend (and yes, I have all kinds of feelings about that), but that’s as far as our plans go.

I know there are things I’d like to do. Go back to Pearl, or maybe try the other one, if we can figure out how to make it work. Go to a swinger’s club, even though the ones around us are supposed to be, well, not quite our style, just because I wanna see what they’re like. Maybe kiss a girl? Yeah, I think I’d like to try that (which is another post altogether).

I don’t really know what adventures await us (insert shrugging emoji here).

I do know that the best is yet to come. And I can’t wait to explore with my super hot hubby by my side.
